Merry Christmas from the Brown family!
We feel so blessed to be celebrating Christmas with William. 2008 has been very good to us. I felt like I was pregnant for an eternity, but it's not all that long considering the reward at the end. Our lives have changed tremendously since this time last year, and I have a hard time remembering a time when our nights didn't end with bath time, swaddling, and a white noise CD blaring in our ears into the wee hours.
William brings us so much joy. Not a day goes by that one of us doesn't call the other over to see something adorable he's doing or to listen to a new cooing sound that melts our hearts. My current favorite is the "ooooh" sound he makes after he sneezes. He sounds quite pleased with his accomplishment.
I have always marveled at my mom's "mama bear" instinct when it came to her kids. If someone did something to one of us or we were seen as being in harm's way, she would turn every shade of red and go to the ends of the earth to fix it. I totally understand that now. I cannot imagine anything I wouldn't do for William. I know Mikey is the same way.
Unfortunately, our little man is trying to get over his first cold. He has been congested for about 5 days now. I took him to the pediatrician to make sure it wasn't anything worse than a cold, and it seems we are just going to have to ride it out. It's a lot harder on me and Mikey than it is on William - he's not all that bothered, other than the fact that he hates getting nose drops. However, he is getting a lot more cuddle time in the middle of the night because I can't bear to lay him back down on his back with all those pitiful noises he's making.
So it'll be a sniffly, snuggly, oh so merry Christmas in our house!
