No theme to this post...

William is the peek-a-boo champ of this house. It has been a favorite game for many months now, and it is especially popular at dinner...when his hands are covered in food. He will keep his hands over his face for quite some time, and Mikey and I have to pretend like we don't know where he is. We frantically ask questions like, "Did he go outside...Is he under the table...Did he go to bed?" He typically has his fingers spread apart so he can see Mikey the whole time.

We paid someone to mow our yard at our old house, but Mikey is now my lawn boy. He does a bang-up job, and William loves to watch. I actually tried my hand at the lawn mower last weekend, just for kicks. It was interesting for all of five seconds, then I was ready to be done with it. Power tools just don't speak to me. Anyway, (great) Aunt Lisa and Uncle Bobby got William his very own bubble mower for Christmas. In true male form, he is most interested in tinkering with it.

I had been thinking about getting a little table and chairs for W, but of course I didn't want to pay retail. IKEA had a really good sale on the white set below, and I couldn't pass it up. I knew William would love it since he is a chair-climbing machine at the library. He basically wants to sit in every kiddie-sized chair in the place. As for the books, he could take them or leave them. It's all about the seating. At home, however, our little guy is a reading machine. He usually wants us to read to him, but he will occasionally plop a book on the table and "read" it all by himself.

Speaking of chairs, William thinks he owns this one in our bedroom. He spends hours every week throwing little plastic balls to/at us from the chair. He recently learned that he can push the bottom cushion off the chair and onto the floor. I'm not sure why that's better. It's certainly less comfortable. I guess it's easier for him to get in and out since the point of entry is several inches lower. I just love this picture.

And with that, I am caught up through March. Next up, Easter, my family reunion, and lots of random William pictures. Surprised??

Like mother, like son?

William loves to "go go" these days. Whenever we are headed out, I grab my purse and keys, and we hit the road. I guess he thought he would speed up the process for me this time!

Good clean family fun

When Mikey's mom told us she wanted a karaoke machine for her birthday, I'll admit I thought it was a little...I don't know...7-year-old girl's birthday present in 1992. But in that family, you get people what they ask for, so a karaoke machine it was! It was funny reading all the reviews when we tried to decide which one to get. Almost all of them referred to the machine being a child's birthday or Christmas present.

We busted the machine out as soon as she opened it, and we all got into the spirit of karaoke-ing! Amy had bought some good oldies karaoke CDs, so it was easy to find songs we all knew. The only rule was that everyone has to sing along, not just the one who was lucky enough to be holding the microphone.

I think William was a bit shell-shocked that we were doing something that didn't somehow revolve around him! He was a good sport though.
