Scott, Jill, Jackson and Colton were our first visitors. Jill and the kids hadn't met Ryan yet, so we spent some time just hanging out at our house and enjoying our four little guys. It's nice that the older three can really play together now. They are only six months apart, and that difference is finally just about meaningless. We have all been waiting for them to be able to play together. J & C are a good head taller than William, but he still manages to keep up for the most part.
Jill got in some cuddle time with the wee one. It seems like just yesterday that Jackson and Colton were that tiny. And now they are three!
The big boys were fascinated with Ryan. It was too cute.
A picture with no children - one for the record books!
Just a day later, Ken and Virginia were in town and brought Christopher over for a visit. It was their first trip to Houston since he was born, and we were delighted to finally meet their son. JP and Emily came over as well, and we ate fajitas and caught up. It's so different with kids around. Ken and Virginia weren't quite ready to leave (and we weren't ready to see them go!), but their weekend had been crazy busy, and Christopher was more than ready to head out. As usual, the baby won that battle. We are fully aware that the baby is the boss at that point, and it's fruitless to put up a fight when they have had it. We were just happy that they made time for us!
Ryan (left) and Christopher - I'd say Christopher won the first round between the two.
They are holding hands, so the grudge match must have been put aside for now.
If you have ever looked in your rearview mirror while JP is sitting in the back seat, you will know that he makes some very silly faces (they have also been known to distract Abbey and others who were trying to give an oral report). Ryan was a big fan of JP's many faces.
It won't be long until William or Ryan asks why Uncle Michael calls JP "Jumping Person." I'm sure JP's wild imagination will come up with a good story.
They match!
Fingers taste goooooood.
