Obsessed

Sports is William's first and only love. He rarely plays with toys that aren't sports-related. If he does, he turns them into something having to do with sports. Play-doh exists for Mommy and Daddy to make bowling balls, bowling pins, golf balls, golf holes, golf tees, golf clubs, baseballs, bats, tees, basketballs, basketball nets, backboards, and on and on. His tennis racket is a piece of packing foam that came with his video monitor. His former tennis racket was a football! He snags empty water bottles and lines them up to use as bowling pins.

One day we had mashed potatoes and mixed veggies with dinner. He put a green bean into his mashed potatoes - sticking straight up. On top, he carefully placed a kernel of corn. Then he fished out a larger green bean, and voila! Golf! While playing with your food is technically a no-no, we couldn't stop laughing enough to tell him to knock it off. It was so cute and creative! Just today, he had a piece of peanut butter toast that wasn't shaped like anything in particular, but he swung it over his plate and said it was a golf club.

He has some big shoes to fill!

Look at that concentration.

Next up, baseball

Nice hit!

Don't blink, or you'll miss the fact that he has moved on to basketball.

Notice the football and tennis ball on the ground...that's his tennis racket and ball, ready for action.

This set of clubs is hands down the best $6 Grammy has ever spent. She even bought a set for her house because he can't get enough golf.

He's checking out a sleeping Ryan on the video monitor.

He just will not let go of that driver! I adore this picture for some reason.

Water break time

I'm thinking these two could be related.

Time to bowl. That red thing in his hand is a wooden ketchup bottle from his kitchen. He sometimes uses that and a wooden salad dressing bottle as his bowling pins.

great post! love hearing about William's personality! My fav shot is your favorite: the "walking away with a driver slung over his shoulder." Priceless! All in a days work, right? He does look focussed in all his picts!
