Playing with PawPaw

I got to go on vacation last month! OK, not really, but PawPaw came to visit, and it felt almost like a vacation for me. He is super with both of the boys, and he made sure I got plenty of time to myself. On his last day here, he even let me nap while he watched them. I didn't notice until he mentioned it that it was his first time to have them both on his own. He seemed ever so slightly relieved when I came out of my room, but he did great! William was fed, and Ryan was happy. What more could I ask for?

Of course my camera was in overdrive during his visit. He hadn't gotten to meet Ryan before this trip, so I had to capture it all. As always, I feel like a pest when I bring my camera out all the time, but I never regret it later. It's so fun to have it all documented.

Mikey rocks. Neil was due to arrive in a few hours, and he was vacuuming while on baby duty.

PawPaw jumped right in on the first night.

So nice to meet you!

He's such a natural with babies. It has to be his calm nature.

Let the golfing begin.

Dinner's on the grill, and basketball is on the agenda. That's a good night around here.

You can take PawPaw out of Texas, but you can't take the Texas out of PawPaw.

We have a fabulous park five minutes from our house. They stock it with fish, so of course we had to take a trip out there. William is enjoying watching PawPaw bait the hook with a worm.

They caught a ton of teeny-tiny fish.

Exhibit A - you don't need to see the rest because they all looked just like this. I love how happy William looks.

This is my favorite of all the pictures I have taken for a very long time. Their expressions are so very them.

I can't let him leave without some group pictures.

Don't you love how this shot's composition allows for maximum impact of the giant brown patch in our grass? I really thought that one through! William was fighting being held, so we did the best we could. In case you're wondering, the brown patch is getting smaller with a little TLC.

Such a sweet picture!

Thank you, PawPaw, for a wonderful visit. William still says "Way to go, Idaho!" all the time. It makes me smile because it's so reminiscent of Michael's childhood.

We can't wait for you and your boys to get here!
