Attaboy! I'm so proud he can read and swing at the same time. Let's hope William inherited my uncanny ability to read during almost anything without feeling sick. As a child, I read EVERYWHERE - in cars, department stores, at the dinner table (any table really), on boats being tossed around by waves. I didn't know the meaning of motion sickness until I was on a boat for a family vacation in college. Not fun, but staring at the horizon really worked for me.
I spent many an adolescent hour reading Babysitters Club, Sweet Valley Twins/High, Orphan Train Quartet, and Christopher Pike mystery books. I do miss being able to spend hours on end reading. I have only read one non-baby book since William was born. Today I dove back into World Without End by Ken Follett. I am determined to make time to read going forward. This crazy world of technology has sucked me in big-time, and I need to drag myself out of it and get back to the low-tech realm with no flashing banner ads or obnoxious commercials. Not that I won't be checking my email while I read, naturally. You gotta start somewhere.
