I must confess...I am considering not posting on the blog anymore. I really enjoy looking back at all of my favorite pictures and reading about our adventures from years past, but it's a lot of work, and I'm (obviously) so far behind! As you can see, I haven't decided to quit just yet.
Here are the Halloween photos we took.
| We went to the same pumpkin patch for the fourth year in a row. Thanks to the Moores for the recommendation long ago. It's very simple and isn't crazy crowded (at least not mid-week, which is when we always go). |
| Unfortunately, Mikey was running late, and the boys and I had quite a bit of time to kill before he came. I enjoyed their time up there since they were occupied and staying together in one place. |
| Grandpa made the most amazing Halloween costumes ever! I had the idea for them to be garbage men, but there is nothing like this on the market. I knew Grandpa was handy and an excellent problem-solver. I don't think he knew was he was getting into. :) |
| These boys sure did (do) love their costumes. William is driving his truck here. |
| These weren't the most comfortable costumes on the planet, but I think we all agreed that they were totally worth it! That's why I got the safety vests and made them ID cards. I knew they wouldn't wear the full costumes for hours on end. |
| Poor Ryan - his straps kept falling off his shoulders. He didn't complain a bit and actually seemed pretty content in his costume for awhile. |
| We bought one family pumpkin and let the boys pick our their own little pumpkins. Putting stickers on them proved to be a great distraction for Ryan while Mikey and William did most of the carving. |
| Mikey and I are usually on the same page with parenting decisions. Not so much on the pumpkin-carving rules. This stressed me out. |
| He is enthralled. |
| Another nail-biting moment for me... |
| The obligatory "after" picture. |
| We went to a family Halloween party at the Workman's house. So fun to wear the costumes once again. So much work went into them that we had to take advantage of every chance we got. |
| The big moment...trick-or-treating time! We went to our neighbor Mr. Albert's house first. He often gives us sports stuff that his grandkids have outgrown, and we knew he would get a kick out of the boys. We made it almost to the end of our street. We left the trucks at a neighbor's house and continued on for a few more minutes. It was by far our most successful trick-or-treating adventure. |
| He was on a mission. We moved slow and steady, but he definitely understood what was happening. After trick-or-treating, we had a blast handing out candy at our house. The boys sure enjoyed taking part in that. It made me happy because I really liked doing that as a kid. |
| We were boo'ed! Someone drops Halloween treats on your doorstep and then runs off. The instructions are for you to then "boo" two other families. You put a sign in your window so you don't get "boo'ed" again. William loved this whole experience. He kept asking why we couldn't be "boo'ed" again. We went shopping together, and the boys dropped off the treats with me. One of the moms could hear me yelling for him to run. He rang the doorbell about 87 times and just stood there. We'll get it right next year! |
| Hold the phone I actually crafted! We had a MOPS moms' night out where we could make these characters or snowmen for Christmas. For once I am pleased with the result of something I made. These guys will come back out next year. If I can find them. Ha. |

DOn't stop blogging! I love the photos and getting to see what the Brown clan is up to. Maybe just fast forward to today and don't worry about the months you missed.
Dont stop the blog!! I loe reading your posts even though I don't always comment. Your boys are sooo cute in the pumpkin patch and their awesome costumes. loved it :)
Don't be a quitter like me :)
I am channeling all of my energy into our family yearbook, maybe I will just share the link to that when it is done? Ha!
Saw the halloween photos on FB but loved seeing them again, they are precious!
Lot's of people experiencing life through the eye piece of a camera or IPhone, and missing the full experience. Add on journaling about it and no wonder you question if you've found the right balance.
Finding balance is always a work in progress. And perfectionism is a jealous mistress - and adds another obstacle to the quest.
Of course I love the blog but understand where you are coming from!
