Even without the fresh seafood, we had a wonderful family weekend. I decided to put my camera down for the first afternoon/night we were there. I sometimes feel like I miss out on experiences because I have a camera permanently attached to my face. As a side note - I first felt like this at Sea World, when I spent the entire time trying to get a picture of Shamu jumping out of the water. I wish I had just sat back and enjoyed the show.
The boys slept just like they do at home. William had never slept on a big boy bed anywhere other than at our house or his grandparents' house. There is the perfect bed for him at the Pink House. It is a twin with little walls on three sides, and there's a trundle on the fourth side. Basically, there is no way to fall out. Yay! I brought his sheets and comforter from home, and I think that helped signal that he was to stay put. I was afraid he would be up and down all night long anyway, but he zonked out for both nap and bedtime. Fresh air does that to me too. Ryan - well, he slept like Ryan. He was up a couple of times a night, but he napped normally, which is good. The bedroom at the Pink House is DARK because there are no windows to the outside. I couldn't even see my hand in front of my face. The first night when Ryan started fussing to be fed, I had a very hard time figuring out where I was and what the heck I was doing there!
Morning is here - the camera is back in action.
William usually watches 30 minutes of TV with Mikey on Saturday and Sunday mornings. It's a special time for them (these days William chooses golf over cartoons - crazy kid). Since we were on vacation, he got to watch "The Jungle Book" while he ate breakfast. The kid was absolutely spellbound.
We do a lot of hanging out at the Pink House. No hustle and bustle, no to-do lists to make me feel unproductive. We just sit and look out the picture window at the water.
William's "fishy friend" was a stowaway on the ride home. He just loved it so much.
Perhaps he's getting inspiration from the bay.
This baby is teething for sure.
Sorry, Mom...I know dogs don't belong on the furniture. He just loves it so much!
What fun to be a dog in a giant yard.
Ryan always touches William's head when he can reach it. I'm sure William will get tired of that pretty quickly.
Told you he loves that redfish!
I love this picture. I have it framed, and William always says, "William helping Daddy go fishing" when he sees it. Too cute!
I love to torture them with pictures. It's pretty much my hobby.
My kids don't have any matching clothes, so this is about as close as we get - somewhat clashing green footie PJs. They just look so sweet in them.
You can see the Pink House in the background. My mom pointed out that these little guys are the fifth generation to fish there. Wow!
Aside from my lovely beard created by the strong wind, I love this picture. William is such a character and so much fun to experience things with.
Ryan has his eye on the prize. He won't be distracted by a picture when there's serious fishing to be done.
William was amazingly patient when he and Mikey were fishing. He just took it all in. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of their first fish together because I was up at the house with Ryan. William does a great impression of the "croak croak" sound it made.
