And Baby Brown is a big'un. People have been asking all along if we know how big he is, and I have had no answer for them because we haven't seen the little guy for almost four months. But today we went back to Texas Women's for a growth ultrasound, and our boy is likely to be a bruiser. They put his estimated weight NOW at around 8 lbs. Keep in mind that I am 3.5 weeks from my official due date. Even if they are slightly overestimating, he's going to be a big baby (he's in the 90+ percentile for his gestational age). They said his head is big, abdomen is big, and it looks like he's chunky. More cheek to pinch! Oh, and you could even see his hair in the ultrasound.
My doctor thinks mother nature played a little trick on me. She said that quite often, petite women will carry petite babies. But Mikey was around 9 lbs, and I was a normal 7 lbs 2 oz. Mikey said I should start lifting weights fast because this boy's going to take a toll on my arms!
It's looking like I will be having a November 7 c-section as we discussed at my last appointment. My doctor said that unless I become immobile/miserable or am having a harder time breathing, there's no reason to take him any sooner. Just because he's big doesn't mean he's more mature physically, so she would like for me to get to 39 weeks if possible. Plus, white males are the slowest to mature in utero (go figure). We want his lungs to be healthy and strong. Oh, and for those who were concerned that he may actually be a she...there is NO WAY that boy isn't a boy. He is quite the exhibitionist.
All this means we will get to meet our little man in just 18 days! Keep us in your prayers during this exciting time.

Wow - you are a strong person to be carrying the BIG baby in you! I am definitely impressed. And I have a lot of sympathy for your breathing... why does it feel like I have just run a marathon at all times??? I'll be thinking about you on Nov. 7th and happy that I am not alone in the experience! :)
