I have been feeling the baby kick for about three weeks now, and Mikey has been very frustrated that every time he puts his hand on my belly...no dice.
Well tonight, he was kicking up a storm! I waited until I had felt him four or five times already and then told Mikey to try. He felt the baby almost immediately. It was exciting! He was surprised at how strong it felt from the outside.
I'm getting pretty used to it, but I do get totally distracted at work when he kicks a few times in a row. Around 5:00 today he must have been doing calisthenics in there or something, and I probably spent a good five minutes watching my hand move up and down on my belly.
Tomorrow I will be 21 weeks along. I am sorry that I don't often speak in months, but everything is measured in weeks during pregnancy! According to my bookmarked website that shows weeks/months/trimesters, the 21st week is the end of my fifth month.
Time is absolutely FLYING by. The beginning of the pregnancy seemed to take an eternity, but now everything seems to be moving so quickly. I ordered baby bedding this week because some of my stuff is back ordered. And we will be ordering the furniture this weekend.
In non-baby news (I swear this isn't all we talk about--yet!), my parents' furniture arrived at their new house in Connecticut today. They seem very glad to be getting settled in, although I'm sure it will take them months to do everything they want to do. We're looking forward to a trip up there in August. It'll feel fantastic to get out of this heat.
We had planned to visit my family's bay house in Palacios Thursday-Saturday, but it turns out my aunt, uncle, and their kids will be there until Saturday (it's a small house). We may still try to go on Saturday. Mikey has been very motivated about going, mostly because he thinks he left his iPod there. Let's hope so because if not, it's lost. And that would be bad.
Happy 4th of July to you all! I hope you spend it doing whatever makes you happy.

This was one of my absolute favorite parts of pregnancy - enjoy it and congratulations on reaching the second half of your pregnancy! So exciting!
