Playing, playing, and more playing

As it turns out, I was not crazy to suggest that Grammy and Grandpa buy the boys a water table for Christmas. It was balmy enough to use it on January 5! Thank you, Houston, for the ever-changing weather.

William loved it. He especially enjoyed pouring water into the tall bucket/tower thing, and then "accidentally" pouring it in the grass. Good thing it's just water, and he can do whatever he wants with it, short of carrying the table inside or throwing it under a car. I have a feeling this table is going to become a permanent fixture in our back yard very soon.

I took this picture and soon realized it was hazardous to try and photograph a new big-boy bike rider when you are the only parent on duty. He hadn't grasped steering or braking quite yet and needed my full attention!

Let it snow! An old stocking stuffer materialized in my closet, and I realized some snow would be the perfect way to entertain William on a rainy day during Ryan's morning nap. Can you tell at what point I tamed his bead-head? He had quite a wave going.

I am ridiculously proud of William. He used to be so timid on playgrounds. The day I took these pictures, he eyed the playground for awhile and then finally decided it was time to explore. As we were leaving, he said, "Next time we come, I will climb that" (meaning the rock wall). I told him to go ahead do it right then. He did it and didn't show any fear. I honestly felt like I got to watch him double his confidence on that trip to the park. He does everything in his own time, just like me. Don't try to make me jump in a pool - I will ease in when I'm good and ready. :)
