Birthday boy #2

We kept things low-key and relaxed for Ryan's first birthday. He seemed pretty OK with it!

I wanted to get some pictures on his actual birthday, even though we didn't do anything official that day. He did open some presents.

These are some nesting things that turn into a big, clunky ball when all nested together. I think they look a little like something else.

Yes, Ryan, you too must wear the infamous birthday hat. You have CC to thank for many years of that!

They melt my heart.

Random in black & white, but they just looked better that way. Sweet birthday hug.

Adorable!

Had to have a picture with my baby on his birthday.

Here we were on his actual birthday, just one year ago.

He was a little perplexed by the unwrapping thing when we celebrated at Grammy and Grandpa's.

He looooved the toy inside the wrapping paper!

This face cracks me up.

I was still cupcake'ed out, so I made a cake I found online. I use the term "made" very loosely. You tear up an angel food cake, freeze it, spread some vanilla ice cream over it, and sprinkle berries on top. It was tasty and way too easy.

He didn't know what to think of the ice cream, so I think he mostly ate the blueberries.

Big brother knew exactly what to do with the cake and ice cream combo.

He couldn't be bothered to stop eating for a family picture.

Feeding the baby bird

All smiles

Playtime with Grandpa

That Grandpa sure is FUNNY!

Ryan stopped playing long enough to pose with Aunt Amy.
