Halloween preview

Behold, it's Ryan the Lion and a golfing prodigy!

Last year at the pumpkin patch, I wondered how on earth we would manage to get pictures of both kids in their costumes without major meltdowns. It wasn't that bad, I am pleased to report. We had a strategy, and it worked!

The boys are going to have several opportunities to wear their costumes this year. We are going to a costume playdate on Friday (such a great idea!). On Saturday, William and I are going to a retirement home with my MOPS group. The kids will all wear their costumes, they will sing a Halloween song (we are doing "Five Little Pumpkins" boot camp every morning at breakfast), and then we will eat ice cream with the residents. I can't wait! What a treat for all involved.

William is going to trick-or-treat for the first time ever this year. It should be interesting. I suspect he'll lose interest quickly and will be shy, but he could very well surprise me. His teacher told me today that he answered all the questions in circle time before Ms. Diana had a chance to finish asking them...so maybe he won't be as shy as I think!

My kids are very shy but, once they realize candy is involved, they suddenly become quite independent! Ben and Sophie went last year and loved it. I am sure he will be a fan of the holiday.

An I LOVE the lion costume. That is too cute!
