Randomness

Several weeks ago, I watched a neighbor's son while she went to the dentist. I am absolutely loving having neighborhood friends. It seems so 1950s to go over to your neighbor's house for a BBQ or to take a walk together. At our old house, we didn't know a single neighbor's name...all I knew was whose dog attacked ours and who illegally operated a business in their house. I miss you, Heights, but we do love it here. Anyway, Jackson is a few months younger than William, and they have known each other for almost a year now. They have just recently started paying attention to that other little boy in the room. I wouldn't say they play together yet, but as you can see, they play next to each other. It's very sweet.

These pictures were taken before William got his hair cut. That is some MAJOR bed head.

I had a lovely Mother's Day weekend with my sweet boys. They took good care of me, and I even got what I wanted - a filing cabinet! I am one lucky lady. We spent the afternoon by the pool at Grams and Gramps' house. William got reacquainted with the water. It took about half a second in his float from last year for us to realize it was way too small. His thighs have certainly not gotten smaller over the past year.

I felt the need for some posed pictures on Mother's Day. Not sure why, but I guess I have to do it every so often. This first one is a rare pic of Donna with her kids. My camera is always pointed at William. I think people are kind of surprised when I take a picture of adults only.

These pics in the green shirt are from the day he got a big boy haircut. The lady asked me what number I wanted the clippers on. Yowza, it was like a foreign language to me. She went with a 4 I think. After the cut, he looked even cuter than usual to me. As if that's possible. He clearly likes his new look!

This is the new look of our kitchen. We call it messy chic. William now has a stool, and he uses it to empty our serving utensils. Don't worry - we wash anything we take out of that drawer before using it.

Be still, my heart.

And if I have not yet told you our news (honestly, I can hardly remember who knows what!), Mikey and I are expecting boy numero dos in late November. We have known for a little over a month that I am going to be seriously outnumbered by the boys in my life. Good thing I can hold my own in this house!

I have only very recently started feeling the baby swimming around in there. It was by far my favorite part of my last pregnancy and is something I was eagerly anticipating this time around. Yay! I am not uncomfortable yet and am feeling the baby move - this has to be the best part of the pregnancy. Soon I will be clutching the small of my back and waddling after William in the park, all while wearing a ridiculously cumbersome but necessary maternity support belt. I'm enjoying this while it lasts!

1. I think this is how boys play together, even when they are big boys.
2. You will never really be outnumbered!
